EROAD Fleet Day 2025 was a landmark event for New Zealand’s transport industry—and Thundergrid was proud to be at the heart of it. Held at Mystery Creek, Hamilton, the sold-out conference brought together over 1,200 fleet professionals, 70+ exhibitors, and 15+ expert speakers to explore the future of fleet management through the lenses of efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Innovation on Display

At the Thundergrid booth, our team—Cam Denne, Tom Harrison and Garth Hayward—showcased our full suite of smart EV charging solutions, from AC chargers for fleet managers and employee home charging to DC chargers built for heavy transport. Attendees experienced virtual charging demos and engaged in meaningful conversations about infrastructure planning, energy storage, and scaling EV adoption.
“We had so many positive conversations this year,” said Cameron Denne, BDM at Thundergrid.
“Visitors had a way better understanding of EVs. It was kind of normal now—and they came to us looking for smart, scalable charging infrastructure.”

Thought Leadership on Stage

Thundergrid CEO Jonathan Parker joined the panel discussion on New Technology in Vehicles & Infrastructure. He was sharing insights on how containerised energy storage and megawatt-scale charging can unlock electrification without costly grid upgrades.
“Smart energy solutions are the key to unlocking ROI and resilience in fleet operations,” said Jonny.
“We’re empowering fleets to become mobile energy banks—vehicles that store and sell power.”
The panel emphasized the importance of infrastructure-first planning. Thundergrid is leading the way in designing systems that are modular, scalable, and future-ready.
“The future belongs to those who plan ahead,” Jonny concluded.
“And Thundergrid is proud to be leading that charge.”

Industry Momentum

The energy at Fleet Day was electric—literally and figuratively. As Garth Hayward, Lead BDM, put it:
“It was the best show in years. The engagement was phenomenal, and the interest in our solutions was real.”
Tom Harrison, Account Manager, added:
“All the big players were there—Scania, Volvo, Windrose. The audience had specific questions and was ready to move.”
