Electrification can feel complex. Thundergrid helps make it clearer, more practical, and easier to move forward with confidence.
We work with businesses, commercial property owners and fleet operators to understand charging demand, site constraints, power capacity and long-term needs, then design a solution that can grow with you.
Thundergrid supports every stage of your business EV charging journey.
Design
A successful charging solution starts with understanding your site, your power supply, who will be charging, and how your needs may change over time.
We analyse every aspect, such as who will be charging (staff or public), if it’s for their own vehicle or fleet, if you’re part of a larger organisation or private, and how your needs may evolve in the future.
This means looking at your parking and electrical infrastructure, how many sites you have, what their different needs are, how much available power there is, and how it’s connected to the grid.
If your business has vehicles coming and going between homes and locations, integrating employee at-home charging is often the simplest and most efficient approach. We advise on policies if staff move homes or jobs.
We take care of the relationship between you and your landlord, whether it’s one or many if you don’t own your building. Working with all stakeholders, we share your goals, understand theirs, and clarify who owns and pays for what.
Our design allows you to transition to EV charging without having to change the way you operate. From electrical designs with load management solutions, to installation and ongoing management.
Installation
Installation is about more than putting chargers in the ground. We help make sure your charging setup works safely with your site, your users and your available power.
We look after every part of the installation process, from disruption planning and traffic management to coordinating onsite logistics. Bringing in the right people needed, we even go as far as removing and replanting trees if needed.
Our smart charger installation includes load management. This means they vary their speed to not overload the power supply available in your building. So you and other tenants can add EV chargers and keep using heaters and coffee machines, without losing power.
As well as chargers on location, business solutions often involve at-home chargers for employees. We take care of employee engagement, installation, onboarding and setting up agreements in case they move homes or jobs.
Many of our chargers have interactive touch screens so the public, customers or staff can pay with a one-off credit card payment or through our Thundergrid Public App.
For businesses in a building complex, we recommend installing an electrical ‘backbone’ (cables and distribution) so chargers can be added in the future. We are brand agnostic and can work with most existing OCPP (smart) chargers.
A site-specific safety plan and implementation plan can be reviewed by all stakeholders and is clearly outlining what work is taking place, the equipment being installed, and how we will install it safely.
Management
Once chargers are installed, Thundergrid can help manage the ongoing operation, support and reporting needed to keep your charging infrastructure working well.
Like any device, chargers need regular updates, and we can do that for you. We can also perform annual compliance checks and periodic assessments to ensure the electrical safety of the equipment.
Our management platform allows us to see the live status of multiple chargers, so we can monitor their use online and proactively and remotely manage faults.
We set up identifiable user access via our app, key fobs, PIN codes or existing building access cards, linked to our management platform. This allows you to track users and reimburse home charging as part of ongoing management.
Using our Managed Services, we create environmental reports to track your carbon emissions, and visual reports to track power usage per charger, vehicle or employee.
If you lease your building, our Managed Services tracks energy per charger, so landlords can bill you for the energy your chargers use.
Our Managed Service offering tracks the energy your employees use on their home chargers, allowing you to reimburse them. We can also manage the reimbursement for you.
You can set the rate on any of our public chargers, so customers, the public or staff can pay via credit card or the Thundergrid Public App.
Your staff can call the free-phone help desk any time for user support or technical help. We can resolve issues remotely and send a technician if needed.
