The sustainable future-proof solution

At New Plymouth Airport, we delivered a comprehensive EV infrastructure solution. It is designed to support both current and future energy needs. This included the installation of a 1 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to be used with the airport’s 10 MW solar farm. This is creating a micro-grid that enables the airport to generate and store renewable energy during the day for use at night. The site now features a 200 kW DC fast charger and 40 AC chargers. These are dedicated to rental car providers, all managed through our smart energy management system. This setup not only reduces reliance on the public grid but also ensures energy resilience. It also ensures cost efficiency, and a future-ready platform for electrifying transport at one of New Zealand’s busiest regional airports.
