Instead of two RFID fobs, you will only need one. Use your existing ChargeNet RFID on all ChargeNet public chargers and all Thundergrid chargers at your workplace or at your home.

Note: Your fleet needs to be an existing Thundergrid customer on a Charger Management Service.
Not much – apart from one less fob on your keyring! Your ChargeNet RFID fob will simply tell the chargers in both networks to start a session. ChargeNet sessions will still appear in your ChargeNet account, and Thundergrid will continue to manage your Thundergrid chargers as usual.
Nothing at all. We’ll set this up for you as part of our standard Charger Management Services.
Note: Your organisation needs to be on a Charger Management Service with Thundergrid to enable the unified RFID fob.
Each ChargeNet fob has two codes: A serial number and a unique identifier (UID). We need both to link your RFID fob to Thundergrid chargers.
After signing the commercial user agreement with ChargeNet, you can access and share the serial number and UIDs with Thundergrid.
There are two ways to set up the unified RFID:
- Export the codes from your ChargeNet account and securely share the details with us. You can also include vehicle registrations if you’d like them linked.
OR
- Add Thundergrid as an “RFID Export Admin” Role within your ChargeNet account, allowing Thundergrid to manage the RFIDs directly.
You can easily order a new ChargeNet fob within your ChargeNet account. Once you have received your new RFID fob, send Thundergrid the updated RFID fob details to info@thundergrid.net or inform your Thundergrid account manager. No worries, it’s a quick fix!
At this stage, the scheme only allows ChargeNet fobs to be used on Thundergrid chargers.
