We ease the pressure on businesses to transition their heavy vehicles or machinery to electric.
Chargers that Change
We also ease the pressure on the power grid and power availability, with smart chargers that share the load and energy storage batteries.
Beyond supplying chargers, we’re experts who specialise in every stage of the EV charging journey.
Design
Designing high power charging for heavy vehicles considers your needs, power on site(s), if vehicles are driven home, and the wider picture.
We analyse every aspect of your charging needs, including the distance your vehicles travel, how frequently they charge, and the logistics of managing multiple vehicles.
We look at your space and electrical infrastructure, how many sites you have, what your high-power charging needs are, how much power is available from the grid, and how we can top that power up with energy storage batteries.
If your vehicles are taken home by drivers, we offer charging solutions in a standardized way, whether vehicles are owned by contractors or driven by employees. We advise on policies if staff move homes or jobs.
If you don’t own your site, we take care of the relationship between you and your landlord, whether it’s one or many. We work with them to share your goals, understand theirs, and clarify who owns and pays for what.
Rather than needing a lines company to upgrade your power connection (which can be expensive, take time and cause project delays), our solution of energy storage batteries combined with smart chargers keeps costs down, accelerates installation, is transportable and yours to own.
Installation
Installation goes beyond chargers, to onsite energy storage batteries and home charging options. We draw from our toolkit, depending on where you’re at.
We look after every step of your charging installation, from disruption planning and traffic management to coordinating onsite logistics. We collaborate with all the people on the ground (property and facility managers and the staff affected) to ensure every stakeholder is engaged.
Our smart charger installation includes load management. This means they vary their speed to not overload the power supply available. Whether it’s DC (high-power) chargers for fast turnaround in peak periods or AC chargers for when you have more time availability.
In order to solve power availability, we combine battery energy storage systems (BESS) with our smart chargers. These can be quickly installed onsite onto the existing grid connection and act as a reservoir of power.
Our charging solution installation involves onboarding fleet managers with their charging portal, so they can view the live status of chargers, ID vehicles, and train drivers on how to use their chargers. We also help drivers on the phone with any problems.
As well as onsite charging, we offer at-home charging for drivers who take their vehicles home. We take care of employee or contractor engagement, installation, onboarding and setting up agreements in case they move homes or jobs.
We are always looking to the future with the potential for expansion in mind. If your installation requires excavation or groundwork, we recommend future proofing, so you don’t have to dig the ground up twice.
We provide a site-specific safety plan and implementation plan that all stakeholders can review, clearly outlining what work is taking place, what will be installed, and how we will install it safely.
Management
Management is more than maintenance and upgrades. It’s providing reporting, billing and reimbursing using our management platform, Ocean.
Like any device, chargers need regular updates, and we can do that for you. We can also perform annual compliance checks and periodic assessments to ensure the electrical safety of the equipment.
Our management platform, Ocean, allows us to see the live status of multiple chargers, so we can monitor their use online and proactively and remotely manage faults.
Using our management platform, Ocean, we create environmental reports to track your carbon emissions, and visual reports to track power usage per charger, vehicle or employee.
Our management platform, Ocean, tracks the energy your employees use on their home chargers, allowing you to reimburse them. We can also manage the reimbursement for you, and the employee can also get a report.
If your electricity is coming from a third party, we can manage the cost recovery for you. For example, if you lease the land or your power supply is coming from somewhere else.
If your solution involves public-facing or contractor-used chargers, you can set the rate so the public or staff can pay via credit card or the Thundergrid app.
Your staff can call the free-phone help desk any time for user support or technical help. We can resolve issues remotely and send a technician if needed.
Products
Our heavy vehicle solutions include high-power smart chargers that don’t overload the grid, and onsite energy storage batteries that increase power availability.
With variables to EV charging solutions, our experience gives answers to questions you didn’t know you had.
Yes, you could, but the biggest challenge for heavy vehicle charging is power availability onsite. Installing chargers without a full-picture solution, could lead to expensive installation and infrastructure upgrades. We encourage you to contact us for a site assessment.
Our solutions can combine smart chargers (that share power) with energy storage batteries (that act as a reservoir of power additional to the grid).
Chargers can be a mix of DC (high-power) and AC that can be used for overnight or at-home. We also offer all-in-one BESS charging solutions (battery energy storage systems) which is a battery with built-in EV charger. These can be quickly deployed, avoiding connection upgrades and can remain your asset, even if you move.
Home charging can also be a helpful option. If vehicles are taken home, we can install at-home chargers for overnight, leaving depot charging for during the day.
For businesses who want to start with a few chargers but add more in the future, we install an electrical ‘backbone’ initially (cabling and distribution system), which lets you add chargers if and when you want.
Our management platform, Ocean, allows us to view and manage your multitude of charger activity in the one place. Talk to us about your scenario.
We facilitate a solution between businesses, their landlords and other tenants on site that works for everyone, clarifying who pays and owns what.
We always have expansion in mind. If installation requires extensive siteworks or excavations, we recommend futureproofing to ensure that additional charging capacity can be added later.
We also design solutions to be transportable and ownable, so rather than investing in a site grid connection upgrade, your high-power chargers and energy storage batteries can come with you if you move.
