We ease the pressure on you as a fleet manager to transition to electric vehicle charging while your business operations smoothly keep running.
Chargers that Change
We also ease the pressure on buildings and the power grid with smart chargers that share the power supply when multiple vehicles plug in.
Beyond supplying chargers, we’re experts who specialise in every stage of the EV charging journey.
Design
Designing a charging solution depends on your business, buildings, power supply, building ownership, staff at-home charging options, and reimbursement needs.
We analyse how many kms you travel each day, what your carbon emissions are, how long vehicles need to charge, where they are based, and where the best opportunities are to charge.
This means looking at your parking and electrical infrastructure, how many sites you have, what their different needs are, how much available power there is, and how it’s connected to the grid.
We facilitate the relationship between landlords and tenants, so whether you own your building or lease it, we collaboratively clarify who owns and pays for what.
The best solution may include charging work vehicles at employees’ homes. We use surveys to understand staff and their homes, and advise on policies if staff move homes or jobs.
Strategy and design covers the infrastructure, product and management services that we recommend. From electrical designs with load management solutions, to installation and how you’ll manage costs with staff and landlords.
Installation
Installation goes beyond a charger, to making sure the power supply isn’t overloaded, it is staff accessible, and you can add to it in the future.
We look after every part of the installation process and bring in the right people needed, even as far as removing and replanting trees.
Installing load management is part of our smart charger installation. This acts as a gatekeeper between your car and the building or house, so you can maximise your charging speed with peace of mind you won’t overload the power supply.
As well as chargers on location, fleet solutions often involve at-home chargers for employees. We take care of employee engagement, installation, training, and setting up agreements in case situations change.
Larger fleet solutions involve installing an initial electrical ‘backbone’ (cables and distribution) so that it’s future-ready for adding more chargers. Our system is also brand-agnostic, working with any existing OCPP (smart) chargers.
We provide a site-specific safety plan and implementation plan that all stakeholders can review, clearly outlining what work is taking place, what will be installed, and how we will install it safely.
Management
Management is more than maintenance and upgrades. It’s providing reporting, billing and reimbursing using our management platform, Ocean.
Like any device, chargers need regular updates, and we can do that for you. We can also perform annual compliance checks and periodic assessments to ensure the electrical safety of the equipment.
Our management platform, Ocean, allows us to see the live status of multiple chargers from multiple locations, so we can monitor their use online and proactively manage any faults.
We set up identifiable user access with key fobs, pins or existing building access cards, linked to our management platform. This allows you to track users, and reimburse home charging as part of ongoing management.
Using our management platform, Ocean, we create environmental reports to track your carbon emissions, and visual reports to track power usage per charger, vehicle or employee.
Our management platform, Ocean, tracks energy per charger, so your landlord or you as the building owner can bill users for the energy their chargers use.
Our management platform, Ocean, tracks the energy your employees use on their home chargers, allowing you to reimburse them. We can also manage the reimbursement for you.
Fleet managers and staff can call the free-phone help desk any time for technical help. We can diagnose issues remotely and send a technician if needed.
Products
Our fleet solutions include on location and home charging options. Both include dynamic load management to not overload power on buildings, home or the grid.
"One of the key drivers of adopting Thundergrid’s smart EV chargers was that they cleverly balance the power load across the vehicles charging and our building, plus have sophisticated energy reporting."

With variables to EV charging solutions, our experience gives answers to questions you didn’t know you had.
It is possible to just buy a charger, however there are bigger picture implications that we want to make sure our customers understand. We’re experienced with different scenarios and can walk you through the possibilities and processes.
Solutions depend on how your business operates. It might be one fast charger that several staff use during the day, or many slower ones. Or it might be chargers at employees’ homes, if they work off-site with allocated vehicles.
Many companies find they have 20 vehicles, for example, but only want to transition two vehicles to start with. We do this by installing an electrical ‘backbone’ initially (cabling and distribution system), so you can scale your fleet over time.
We’re experienced at facilitating and bringing parties together to put a solution in place that works with everyone’s transition plans. So, you can transition your fleet while your landlord can future-proof their building.
We are charger-brand agnostic, so our system can work with any OCPP (smart) charger. We can also set up a cost recovery system using our management platform, Ocean, so tenants can automatically be billed for the energy they use.
If an employee moves home, we can move the charger to their new home, whilst leaving their previous home EV-charger ready. If an employee moves jobs, we put policies in place at the start of the journey, to clarify ownership and expectations.
